Our friends at the Direct Action Resource Center in Little Rock, Arkansas now offer a one-of-a-kind training course for licensed Health Care Professionals (HCPs) with interest or involvement in Humanitarian Assistance & Disaster Relief. Their new “Austere Medical Program” is designed to prepare HCPs for the incredible challenge of delivering advanced surgical care under adverse conditions. The live-tissue Unconventional Surgical Immersion Course (USIC) is a humanitarian medical action program that replicates a real-world disaster scenario. It’s taught by former Green Berets and some of the top surgeons in the United States from universities like Harvard, Yale, UConn, UC Davis, University of Florida and Emory.
If you are a licensed Health Care Professional interested in participating, or want information on how your corporation can become involved in sponsoring one or more U.S. Surgical Teams, please send us an email.
